Second-generation racer Jack Perkins will switch to Ford for this season’s endurance events at Phillip Island and Bathurst, signing up to partner good mate Tim Slade at Wilson Security Racing.
The news was broken by Ten News tonight and will be confirmed by Stone Brothers Racing, who prepare the #47 Wilson Security Falcon, tomorrow ahead of this weekend’s racing at Winton Motor Raceway.
Jack’s father Larry made his name in Holden machinery as a six-time Bathurst winner, with Jack competing in Commodores for both Perkins Motorsport and Kelly Racing in recent times.
But it will not be the first time that a Perkins has sat behind the wheel of a Ford at Mount Panorama, with Larry Perkins partnering Dick Johnson in a Ford Mustang in 1985.
